2019 DRAFT Floodplain Regulations

  • Introduction: With the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Swan River floodplain maps becoming effective for flood insurance purposes on March 7, 2019, Missoula County is required by FEMA to amend our floodplain regulations to ensure continued availability of federal flood insurance.

With the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Swan River floodplain maps becoming effective for flood insurance purposes on March 7, 2019, Missoula County is required by FEMA to amend our floodplain regulations to ensure continued availability of federal flood insurance. 

A public hearing will be held by the Board of County Commissioners on February 28, 2019 beginning at 2pm in Annex 151 of the Courthouse at 200 West Broadway to adopt the amended floodplain regulations.  The proposed revisions include updating the date of the FEMA floodplain maps; specifying requirements for AH floodzones; notifying FEMA of variance decisions; and amending the numbering of Section 5.02.8.
