Community Conversation on Jail Diversion
Are you concerned that too many people are being jailed for non-violent crimes in your community? Your elected leaders want to hear from you on the issue! Join Missoula County Sheriff TJ McDermott, Commissioner Cola Rowley, and City Councilwoman Emily Bentley for a public meeting and community conversation on jail diversion. As part of the county’s effort to reduce incarceration rates of non-violent offenders, we would like your help to form our masterplan.
Jail Diversion Public Meeting
Date: Tuesday, Sept. 29th
Place: Double Tree Hotel
100 Madison St, Missoula, MT 59802
You can have your voice heard!
Organizers will present evidence-based tactics regarding mental health diversion, chemical dependency options, and other potential ways we can keep our community safe while addressing underlying drivers for non-violent offenders.
What ideas do YOU have? We want to listen! If you cannot attend, but would like to provide public comment on jail diversion, please submit your comments to firstname.lastname@example.org.
