Two Trails Bond Projects Approved!

Post Date:02/24/2017 4:15 PM

Feb. 23, 2017 --- The Missoula Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously in favor of allocating Missoula County Trails Bond funds to two community-lead trail projects.

The Grant Creek Trail, County Phase-II was awarded $178,000 to complete the final phase of the Grant Creek Trail Project. This segment would connect Mellot Lane to Snowbowl Road via a ten-foot-wide, paved shared-use pathway alongside Grant Creek Road.

The Bonner Streetcar Trail was awarded $318,600 to connect East Missoula to Bonner-West Riverside. The proposed trail is an eight-foot-wide, paved shared-use pathway that would parallel Highway 200 and overlook the Clark Fork River.

The projects are the first to apply and be awarded a portion of the $3 million set aside specifically for trail construction and improvements from the 2014 Missoula County Parks and Trails General Obligation Bond.
