Noxious Weed Management for County Parks and Trails

Post Date:06/14/2017 1:12 PM

The Missoula County Parks, Trails, and Open Lands program is working on a number of noxious weed treatment projects at County Parks and along County trails this spring. Continued noxious weed treatment helps to encourage native plants and reduce the spread of noxious weeds onto adjacent lands. Treatments will happen as weather permits in June and possibly into early July for the following parks and trails (which can all be located using our interactive map):

7th Street Bike-Ped Shoulderway

North Ave Bike-Ped

Clements Trail

Cote Lane Trail

Humble Road Bike-Ped

South Avenue Trail

Spurgin Road Bike-Ped

Mullan Road-Frenchtown Trail

Roman Creek Trail

Seeley Lake:

Locust Lane Trail

Riverview Trail

Boy Scout Road Trail

Bonner-Turah Trail

Parks: Lolo Hillside Parks, Rosecrest Park, Wallace Creek Park, and Lolo Beach Park

We will post notification signs at all parks and along trails (beginning and end of trail) prior to any herbicide application in order to notify park and trail users and adjacent landowners, and signs will be left up for at least 24 hours after application is complete. If you live adjacent to one of the trails being sprayed and you are concerned about the use of herbicides near your property, please make sure to post a 'No Spray' sign at the beginning and end of your property line.
