Absentee Voter - A voter who is absent from their polling place on Election Day and requests an official ballot in advance. Since 1999, voters in Montana can request an absentee ballot without a reason. Prior to 1999, voters would have to provide a reason why they could not attend the polls on Election Day.
Vote-by-Mail - Also known as absentee voting, ballots are mailed 25 days prior to Election Day. Vote by mail ballots for the City Municipal General Election will go out October 16, 2019. A Ballot Collector Information form must be included with your ballot if you are dropping one of for someone else.
Return Postage - Postage to return your ballot in the mail will cost $0.55 or one Forever stamps. Voted ballots may also be returned in person at the Missoula County Courthouse or the Elections Center (Fairgrounds). Ballot drop off is also available on Election Day at the following locations: Lewis & Clark School, Rattlesnake School, Hellgate Elementary, Franklin School, DeSmet School, Jeannette Ranking School, and Senior Citizen Center.
