Where the Money Goes

As of mid-year FY2019, Grants and Community Programs (GCP) staff acquired and/or managed over $5.57 million in funds on behalf of Missoula County. These funds represent "new" money acquired through writing and submitting grant applications to external entities (federal agencies, state departments, foundations). The funds also include grant awards (some of which are county-levied) and loans managed by GCP staff.

A common question is, "Where does the money go?" To help answer that question, GCP staff worked with CAPS' GIS staff to develop a way to visually translate over 50 separate grant and loan funds that have been acquired and/or managed by GCP staff this past year into information that is meaningful -- to show the breadth of financial resources and programs that serve the people who live throughout Missoula County and the businesses that provide jobs and benefits to them.
