Thank you for teaching the children of Missoula County. Let's Move! Missoula  is pleased to help you learn more about physical activity and how it can help the students that you work with every day. 

Many of you reading this have already attended one of our training's, either Take 10! or Brain Breaks.  For those of you who might have missed the training, or it has not yet been scheduled at your school, click here  to see the slides that we use.  Additional research and the brain slides can be found below.

History of PA and Academic Performance Research Informing the Future  This is a very scholarly document, but well worth the time. Also authored by Dr. Castelli. 

Ten Years of Take 10! Research Research on how effective Take 10! has been over a ten year period.  

Association Between PA and Academic Performance  This document is a 2010 Department of Health and Human Services and gives an overview of school practice. 

Healthy Kids, Successful Students, Stronger Communities  This is a CDC document that outlines the need for healthier kids.  It includes both physical activity and nutrition information. 

How Finland Keeps Kids Focused Through Free Play - The Atlantic  An American teacher in Helsinki questioned the national practice of giving 15 minute breaks each hour—until he saw the difference it made in his classroom.
