Dust Abatement Program
Dust Abatement 2017
Due to serious and potentially hazardous infrastructure conditions resulting from higher than normal levels of snowfall and runoff, as well as heavier rains, Missoula County Public Works has made the decision to cut the dust abatement program this year. If you are still interested in having dust abatement done, please contact the contractors listed below for prices. MCPW will still provide road preparation as well as the coordination of efforts between the County and the selected dust abatement contractor(s). Keep in mind, price may be heavily contingent on total volume of dust palliative. Participation and coordination amongst neighbors and neighborhoods may help to ensure price affordability.
MCPW will be emailing residents on our email list and sending out postcards with information to as many landowners as possible in the areas typically treated under the dust abatement program, many of whom are not online to receive this information electronically. We feel it is important to communicate our decisions as well as provide an alternate solution in order to facilitate a smoother transition between residents still interested in dust abatement, and contractor. We will be providing this mailing list to dust abatement contractors upon request in order for them to reach out to people who may be interested in contracting with them for their services.
Please see the latest email for an update from the Missoula County Commissioners.
