The surveyors office has an extensive network of control points in the Missoula Valley. Most of these points are PLSS corners, street intersection monuments, and NGS horizontal and vertical control. In addition, there are an assortment of project specific control throughout the County. These points have been surveyed using survey grade GPS receivers and static techniques, with numerous ties to NGS vertical and horizontal control. The GPS Datasheets, which can be downloaded below, provide information about those points. The most current positional data for these points is available by request by contacting Steve Niday.
A good source for survey control in Montana and Idaho is the Multi-State Control Point Database. This site provides data from National Geodetic Survey (NGS), the Geographic Control Point Database (GCDB), and private and public surveyors.
