From tax information to birth certificates to historical archives, Missoula County has a lot of records! 

Some records are readily available online, like property information, GIS maps, commissioner correspondence and public meeting minutes.

Some records are held by other jurisdictions, meaning that county staff cannot access them. This includes municipal court records from the City of Missoula and background checks from the Montana Department of Justice.

Some records related to court cases are not available to the general public. These types of records are considered confidential criminal justice information and require specific circumstances before being released.

Some records require a bit more staff work and require a request through NextRequest. This includes copies of building or zoning permits and financial records.
